Watauga Community Justice Coalition

The Watauga Community Justice Coalition (WCJC) is an inclusive group of community members and stakeholders working to implement restorative justice principles in the High Country through a set of collaboratively developed priorities.
Our 2022 Top 5 Priorities Include:
1. Develop sober living/ transitional housing in Watauga County.
2. Fill/ repair gaps in the community's mental health safety net.
3. Develop and support a trauma-informed criminal justice and crisis response system.
4. Coordinate effective release planning with area hospitals, facility-based crisis centers, and detention centers.
5. Cross-train law enforcement/ first responders and behavioral health providers.

WCJC is currently meeting virtually on the first Thursday of each month.
